BODABODA is the cross-planetary music collaboration of saxophonist/composer Piero Bittolo Bon (Ferrara, IT) and bassist/composer
Lisa Mezzacappa (Berkeley). Inspired by classic Italian sci-fi comics, Bittolo Bon and Mezzacappa create soundtracks to vintage tales of space travel, intergalactic mayhem, and far-out mysteries of the cosmos. With a nod to pioneering musical space travelers Sun Ra, Stockhausen and Parliament Funkadelic, Bittolo Bon and Mezzacappa conjure jazz past present and future through the imagery and storytelling of 30s and 60s-era comics artists like Bonvi and Zavattini, from fractured grooves to abstract freakouts to dreamy alien landscapes.
The American version of the group makes its US debut at Duende:
Piero Bittolo Bon (IT) - saxophones
Marta Raviglia (IT) - voice
John Finkbeiner - guitar
Lisa Mezzacappa - acoustic bass
Jason Levis (DE/US) - drums

The Klaxons’ music is meticulously crafted and presented with joyful virtuosity, blurring the lines between composition and improvisation, acoustic and electronic, and between individual musical personalities and the lush, intoxicating sound of the whole.
