Orchestra Nostalgico is a descendent of the Clubfoot Orchestra, a San Francisco group best known for performing original scores with silent films. Matthew Brubeck, the group's cellist, was approached by Bruno's nightclub to orchestrate Nino Rota's Fellini scores, and enlisted much of the CFO line-up. Many of us contributed arrangements, a weekly residency led to our first CD, PLAYS NINO ROTA, and fifteen later here is our second release.

We have extended our palette to include Charles Chaplin, Bernard Herrmann (who was to Hitchcock what Rota was to Fellini), John Barry (who was to James Bond ...), the prolific Ennio Morricone (who was to just about everybody else) and more. All of these composers share the rare gift of writing music that can paint pictures in your head with your eyes closed.
