8 pm
Julie Moon - piano
Josh Casey - electronics

As an improvisor, Julie Moon creates harmonic impressions inspired by her studies in piano music and explores unconventional approaches to her instrument. Josh Casey is an electronic sound artist fascinated with creating organic sound worlds using synthesis and developing otherworldly experiences through improvisation. Together they will dedicate their evening to creating emotionally charged aural environments that invite audience members to engage in their own internal experiences.

9 pm
Aaron Oppenheimer, laptop
Mark Clifford, vibraphone
Eli Wallace, piano

These three musicians will meet – with excited anticipation – for the first time in a performance setting for an improvised night of music. All three musicians have a knack for turning musical corners with alacrity, not afraid to shy away from any territory or any spontaneous development whether it’s a rhythmic ostinato or a peculiar texture. Timbral compatibility between these instruments also informs their interactive sensibilities, playing with the subtle similarities and dissimilarities between the sounds produced.

Cost: $10 - $20, sliding scale
