ABOUT ALL INDIA PERMIT
All India Permit is the new project from award winning guitarist and composer Alex Pinto. The culmination of a nine-month journey in his father’s homeland, All India Permit finds Pinto constructing a musical world where Carnatic elements co-exist with the contours and shapes of modern jazz while embracing the edge and vibrancy of the rock aesthetics of his youth. To be released on November 4th on Pursuance Records, All India Permit signals a fearless new direction in cross-cultural music explorations and firmly presents this as one the most exciting developments in the hybrid music world.
ABOUT THE SOUND QUARTET
The Sound Quartet is a newly formed Oakland based collaborative group focused on inventive and creative jazz. Compositions by each member have strong components of swing, utilizes a diversity of textures, and take full advantage of the sonic capabilities of their instruments. Featuring Aram Shelton, alto saxophone & bass clarinet;
Mark Clifford, vibraphone; Safa Shokrai, bass; and Britt Ciampa, drums.
