Owen Stewart-Robertson and Aram Shelton make music with guitar, saxophone, and electronics. It is focused improvisational music which uses textures as melody and creatively extends the sonic capabilities of their respective instruments.
Owen Stewart-Robertson is, among other things, a native of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, a guitarist, composer, educator, performer, a formerly active member of music scenes in, chronologically, the Maritimes, Montreal, Cincinnati, New York City, and Los Angeles, a mild claustrophobic, a participant in ensembles including VaVatican, Old Salt, This Sporting Life, Evelyn, Princess Reason, Teenage Burnout, Make A Circus, Jason Ajemian's HighLife and Folklords, Katherine Young's Pretty Monsters, a founder and director of experimental music label Prom Night Records, a brother of 3, a onetime student of a wonderful guy named Mick Goodrick, and an enthusiast of enthusiasm.
Aram Shelton is a saxophonist, clarinetist, improviser and composer based in Oakland, California. Since 2000 he has created original music that uses open ended improvisation as an integral component. In Oakland the projects Sound Quartet, Tonal Masher, Broken Trap Ensemble, and Ton Trio II represent his music. He is connected to Chicago (where he lived from 1999 to 2005) through his Quartet, the cooperative sextet Fast Citizens (Delmark), and Jason Adasiewicz’ Rolldown (Cuneiform).
http://www.aramshelton.com/Pamela Z is a composer/performer and media artist who works primarily with voice, live electronic processing, sampled sound, and video. A pioneer of live digital looping techniques, she processes her voice in real time to create dense, complex sonic layers. Her solo works combine experimental extended vocal techniques, operatic bel canto, found objects, text, and sampled concrète sounds. She uses MAX MSP and Isadora software on a MacBook Pro along with custom MIDI controllers that allow her to manipulate sound and image with physical gestures. Her performances range in scale from small concerts in galleries to large-scale multi-media works in theaters and concert halls. In addition to her performance work, she has a growing body of inter-media gallery works including multi-channel sound and video installations.

BREATHING is a movement from Carbon Song Cycle (a inter-media chamber work by composer/performer Pamela Z and visual artist Christina McPhee). The work was originally written for voice & electronics, bassoon, viola, cello, percussion, and tape. This is a solo version performed by the composer (with just voice, processing, and tape), recorded at a 3/13/2014 duo concert with Joan La Barbara as part of the 2014 ROOM Series.
