On Tuesday, June 30 at 7:30pm, Tom's Place presents
A Musical Farrago with
Greg Goodman (piano),
George Cremaschi (bass) and
Gino Robair (percussion)
Greg Goodman's public appearances have become rarer and rarer as the years pass. (His private appearance has also been called rare, but that need not concern us here.) He has made his reputation by applying the contents of his scullery maid's closet to the piano, when not distracted by the sounds of small buzzing insects.
His collaborators this evening are George Cremaschi (visiting from Prague) playing contrabass and Gino Robair on percussion and electronics. Ironically, both Cremaschi and Robair are eminently capable of emulating the sounds of small buzzing insects.
Seriously (?), this is a rare opportunity to see these three play. Cremaschi is a sorely missed Bay Area alumnus, now tearing up the Czech Republic. I think Goodman's last public performance was a Tom's Place concert in 2010. Gino we hear more often, but I never get tired of what he does, whatever that is.
