Realizations, Adaptations, and Tributes

BEAK
Ctrl-Z
Las Sucias

Three contrasting groups navigating similar worlds share with you their music, sometimes reminiscent of days past, sometimes not. Defining rhythms, organized sound, controlled improvisation, and the true nature of experimentation is the beginning of what this evening has to offer...

Ctrl-Z is a new electronics trio made up of Ryan Page, Daniel Steffey, and Nick Wang. Using an array of synthesizers, computers, junk, and other performers, they play composed material written for, or adapted to, live electronics, and video; often bringing in other performers to participate in their realizations. They are currently accepting new works submitted by composers, as well as realizing classic works by pioneers of the genre.
Ryan Page: electronics
Daniel Steffey: electronics

Las Sucias is Riot-Reggaeton Noise but its many other things too; multi-layered chaotic experimental explosion of rhythms, emotions, anti-patriarchal lyrics, and Santería; drenched in noise sauce. Its a feminist reaction to Reggaeton, Merengue and Catholic guilt, but also embracing these with nostalgia after years of being an alien in the US.
Danishta Rivero: Bruja
Alexandra Buschman: Bruja

Jordan Glenn’s BEAK is a percussion heavy ensemble that blurs the line between dynamic/energetic grooves and chaos. The power of this electric ensemble is wheeled by Glenn's curious baton, moving in and out of composed and spontaneous material.
