Soundwave ((7)) Biennial

In a first time partnership with the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Soundwave presents two site-specific performances that respond to the acoustic Yud Gallery designed by the renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. Exploring the materialities of the Museum itself by using elements such as blueprints, glass, mirrors, and surface transducers, the architecture is translated through evocative visuals and sound, both on the body and projected around the Yud Gallery. First time Soundwave artist Suzy Poling will present an audiovisual performance reflecting the design of the Yud through sculptural and optic interplay, and veteran Soundwave artists Shane Myrbeck and Emily Shisko will reinterpret archetypal building structures through symbolic movements.

Cost: $15
