Alma Sangre and guest
Antonio Aguilar, singer/songwriter/guitarist pulls from his personal experience as he weaves stories sung in Spanish about his experiences growing up in a migrant field working family. Inspired by Chavela Vargas and her raw expressive passionate voice, this music is authentic, sad and beautiful. Meg Castellanos adds flamenco dance to create a theatrical element while Silas Hite completes the trio with mandolin, bass and percussion. A projection of images of the California desert landscape blends well with Sergei Eisenstein’s Que Viva Mexico!
Chris Sneeringer will be scoring a 20 min self-edit of the 1922 Swedish film, Haxan aka Witchcraft Through The Ages. Modular and Moog synthesizers will be used for the largely improvised soundscapes.
