8pm Jack Hertz - modular synthesizers
9pm Cosmists
CJ Borosque, Andrew Joron, Mark Pino, Thomas Harrison

Cosmists formed in late 2011 as a duo between Andrew Joron on theremin and Mark Pino on percussion. They played shows and made recordings with that configuration until 2014, at which point CJ McCaslin joined the group, adding trumpet and percussion. It was this iteration of Cosmists that produced a CD, “Ontological Printing”, along with continuing to play live at SF Bay Area venues. Cosmists have now been joined by Thomas Harrison Jr. on bass and electronics.

Inspired by the mystery of life, Jack Hertz for more than 30 years works with sound to create intangible impressions between music and noise. His first experiments with sound began with analog tape reel machines, cassettes, microphones, and percussion. Today, he works to develop a sonic middle ground between the real and the artificial, designing unique spaces and atmospheres a listener can explore though sound.
