Mad Max: Silent Fury by The Firmament – Black & White Live Electronic Score

oin us for Mad Max: Silent Fury by The Firmament, a live electronic rescore of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. 8pm-11pm. This event is 21+.

The inspiration behind Silent Fury, an electronic rescore of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road emerged from a black and white perspective of the film; the Black & Chrome Edition. During production on location, Miller would preview each shot on a small monochromatic screen. According to Miller many subtleties are only noticeable when the film is viewed in black and white: “Something about black and white, the way it distills it, makes it a little bit more abstract. Something about losing some of the information of color make it somehow more iconic.”

Using synthesizers, acid basslines, drum machines and audio samples from the film, San Francisco based electronic musical score design duo The Firmament has created a live electronic score to Furiosa’s escape through the future desert wasteland from the vicious Warlord Commander Immortan Joe. Buckle up as Furiosa and Max smuggles her precious cargo, enduring desert tornadoes, psychotic villains and weaponized frankenstein muscle cars.

Though not required for entry, The Firmament has requested and HIGHLY encourages a Black & White dress code.

Mad Max: Silent Fury was part of the 9th Annual Another Hole in the Head Film Festival in San Francisco, and this past February, a repeat performance sold out for the closing night of the 19th Annual San Francisco Indie Fest.
