Joseph's Bones, an 11-piece dub reggae ensemble performs in Oakland at Studio Grand.
"Avant Dub Instrumentale"
Josesph's Bones is to King Tubby as Helmut Lachenmann is to musique concrète. Bringing the electronic sound-transformation processes of Jamaican dub to an acoustic setting, Joseph's Bones pulls the thread between visceral groove and abstract sonic suspension.
This evening will feature 5 horns, 3 guitars, vibraphone, bass, and drums.
It will be without question epic.
