Presented by saxophonist, composer and improviser Brandon Evans, this open public workshop will explain in depth the structural functions and possibilities inherent in his own music notation system called ‘Ellipsis & Elliptical Axis Systems.’
Far from academic, this is a family-friendly, all-ages community hands-on workshop which seeks to foster new creative approaches to the documentation of musical ideas and their realization as living music. Anyone attending the workshop will receive a free download of the entire catalog of the recorded music of Brandon Evans.
Brandon Evans is a composer / multi-instrumentalist (woodwinds) who has performed and recorded extensively with Anthony Braxton, Sonny Simmons, Johnny Coles, Andre Vida, Jackson Moore, Chris Matthay, Kenny Washington, Mike Pride, Kevin Norton, Martin Van Duynhoven, Taylor Ho Bynum, and many other great contemporary jazz / creative musicians.
