November 1 is the first of two consecutive nights of inventive, improvised music at Tom's Place featuring a star-studded cast of improvisers from Norway, Russia, Sweden, Oakland and Walnut Creek.
We're proud to present saxophonist Aram Shelton in his last Bay Area performance before he moves to Denmark after gracing the Bay Area with his presence for 11 years. Joining him will be two of our favorite improvisers, piano/electronics master
Chris Brown, and Aram's partner in Weiner Kids and Marches, drummer
Jordan Glenn. You won't want to miss this performance.
Sharing the bill will be percussion/electronics legend Øyvind Brandtsegg, visiting from Norway. Brandtsegg is a composer and performer working in the fields of algorithmic improvisation and sound installations. His main instruments as a musician are the Hadron Particle Synthesizer, ImproSculpt and Marimba Lumina. He will be joined by the Bay Area's most sophisticated clarinet improviser,
Matt Ingalls.
Cost: Free, donations accepted.
