John Zorn

Born and raised in New York City, composer/performer John Zorn has been a central figure in the New York Downtown Scene since 1975, incorporating a wide variety of creative musicians into various compositional formats. His work is remarkably diverse and draws inspiration from Art, Literature, Film, Theatre, Philosophy, Alchemy and Mysticism as well as Music. He founded the Tzadik label in 1995, runs the performance space The Stone and has edited and published eight volumes of musician’s writings under the title ARCANA.

Bill Laswell

Bill Laswell (b. February 12, 1955 in Salem, Illinois and raised in Albion, Michigan) is an American bassist, producer and record label owner. He was married to Ethiopian singer Ejigayehu Shibabaw alias Gigi.

Laswell ranks among the most prolific of musicians, being involved in hundreds of recordings with many musicians from all over the world. Laswell's music draws upon many different genres, most notably funk, various world music, jazz, dub and ambient styles. He has also played or produced music from the noisier, more aggressive end of the rock spectrum, like hardcore punk and metal.

Charities we will be donating to:

KIND ​​- ​(Kids In Need of Defense) ​works to ensure that ​children​ do not appear in immigration court without representation, and to lobby for policies that advocate for children’s legal interests​, including reuniting them legally with their family​.

RAICES - the largest immigration nonprofit in Texas offering free and low-cost legal services to immigrant children and families

Al Otro Lado - a binational organization that works to offer legal services to deportees and migrants in Tijuana, Mexico, including deportee parents whose children remain in the U.S.

Young Center For Immigrant Children's Rights - works to protect children from harsh immigration laws and recently announced a project specifically dedicated to helping children separated from their parents at the border.

Boder Angels - California-based volunteer organization. Its primary efforts focus on tackling immigration reform and promoting social justice at the US-Mexican border.

Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project - represents families crossing the border and connects them with support systems they wouldn't normally be able to access.
