Barbara Golden, who wrote her first song when she was 40, is an artist living in the SF BayArea. Born in Montreal, the escaped housewife/schoolteacher studied at Mills College with Terry Riley, Bob Ashley, Lou Harrison and Maggi Payne. Since 1985 she’s done politically incorrect performance raunch: WIGband, Balinese music: Gamelan Sekar Jaya, and radio: producer,host, board operator of Crack o’ Dawn for Pacifica KPFA Berkeley. Her vids including the prize winning Take Me Out to the Ballgame have been shown in festivals worldwide.
Barbara Golden's Greatest Hits, her cookbook/cd, beloved for its tasty recipes and tasteless songs, soldout its second edition. Barb has performed with many indie groups: Matmos, The Residents,The Hub, Blectum from Blectum etc. She plays keyboards & backup vocals for The GoldenPath. Nathan Corder is an Oakland-based composer of works for electronics, objects, and arrays of people. Active as a composer and improviser on custom designed electronics and guitar, Corder has collaborated with artists such as Roscoe Mitchell, Jaap Blonk, Tatsuya Nakatani, William Winant, and
Barbara Golden. His discography has been released on Shhpuma (Cleanfeed),Flaming Pines, Amalgam, SEAMUS Records, Noise Pelican, and Coup Sur Coup.
Bill Thibault is from New Orleans, where he learned to love improvision. Leaving music for his technical studies, he later returned, programming computers for graphics and digital audio. He’s written tools for, and performed with, a variety of media including 3D multichannel audio, multichannel video, and multi-projector displays. Lately he performs alongside live musicians, using his audio-reactive software for improvised graphics. www.vjlove.com
Tom Weeks is a composer, improviser, and saxophonist from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. He has received a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, and a Master’s degree in Composition from Mills College, Oakland, CA. He has studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, Zeena Parkins, Pauline Oliveros, Chris Brown, W.A. Mathieu, Steve Adams, Richard Evans, and Phil Wilson, among others. His music is influenced by various African-American musical traditions, the historical avant-garde, and the heavy metal and hardcore traditions; utilizing improvisation, extended techniques, and traditional and experimental notational practices. He has worked with musicians such as Alvin Curran, Makoto Kawabata, Ricardo Descalzo, The MolOt Ensemble, Jack Wright, Nick Millevoi, Hans Koch, Walter Thompson, Vinny Golia, William Winant, G. Calvin Weston, members of the ROVA saxophone quartet, and Henry Kaiser, among many others. In addition to leading the bands Ero Guro and BEER, as well as performing with the ensemble TONED, his frequent collaborators include Camille Emaille, Nathan Corder, Joshua Allen, gabby fluke-mogul, and Kevin Murray.
Richard H. Phillips is an Oakland based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He is the guitarist, vocalist and songwriter of the Indie Rock band The Golden Path. He plays Balinese Gamelan music Gamelan Gadung Kasturi and plays guitar for fusion group Purnamasari.
