ok, so here it is ... claudia la rocco and i have been collaborating for several years under the banner of animals and giraffes; i'm sure some of you out there have come out to see and hear us. but here is a rare opportunity (for me) to have been commissioned by la rocco to compose some of my map scores based on AND WHAT'S MORE - the final novel in claudia's OLIVIA TRILOGY - a science fiction romp that is difficult to classify and even harder to describe. there's nothing like it in my experience, and i'm a guy who loves to dive into literature. it's been a joy to read and re-read the book and coax these map scores out of that experience (you are looking at an image of PART THREE - there are five parts and a prelude in all). the work is scored for a dream ensemble of voices, movement and live electronics (i'll be conducting and playing some saxophone). if you come to one show of mine this year - PLEASE LET THIS BE THE ONE.

eleanor hullihan, jesse hewit, alex escalante - movement
Aurora Josephson, Danishta Rivero-castro, alexandra buschman, madalyn merkey, Kyle Bruckmann - voice
danishta, alexandra, madalyn, kyle, with Wobbly and Thomas Dimuzio - live electronics.

Funding for Claudia La Rocco: And What’s More generously provided by the Kenneth Rainin Foundation.

Cost: $10 - $15 sliding scale
