Contraption Quartet will perform in Santa Rosa at the Museum of Sonoma County this Saturday (June 29, 2019) from 2-4pm. They will set up a sound-art installation within which they will do informal improvisation and demonstrate their invented instruments, and they will do three 15-minute sets of composed pieces at approximately 2:15, 3:00, and 3:30. This performance and installation is part of the museum's "Kinetics: Art in Motion" exhibition.

Contraption Quartet is a sound art collaboration between Crank Ensemble veterans Larnie Fox, Bodil Fox, Chris Miller, and Lena Strayhorn. Contraption Quartet explores sound and visual performance using low-tech invented instruments and sculptural environments. Members are visual artists and musicians working together to create rhythmic layers of material-based analog sound.

Cost: Included w/ museum admission ($10, members free)
