François Houle’s solo tour of the West Coast continues with his special-guest appearance here, playing for the first time with this now ongoing-trio of Bay Area improvisers. The hope here: to combine improvising sensibilities, setting each other up time and again to capitalize on structural possibilities that give rare and meaningful form to an otherwise very spontaneous music.  More...

Ralph White (Austin, TX)
“a lonesome spark, exaggerating the implied drone at the heart of the music of Dock Boggs and The Stanley Brothers... playing wooden six-string banjo, violin, accordion and kalimba, his voice has a high, eerie quality... extremely psychedelic" -(David Keenan, The Wire UK)

Junior Mint Prince
They'll collage strings and electronic toys with soft screams terraforming new timbres in a next-century freak-folk post-topia. Raw voices bridge chaotic bursts of electronic processing and analog synthesis, not a reach to transcend the vortex but to vascularize new paths within its churn.

Del Sol String Quartet performing works written by alumni of The Walden School’s programs. Moderated by composer Nathaniel Stookey.
Composers Forums are central to the Walden School experience, where new music is presented in a concert setting, and each new work’s premiere is followed immediately by dialogue between the composer(s), performer(s), audience, and the moderator(s). Alumni of Walden’s programs range in age from 10-100, with some professional composers, student composers, serious amateur composers, and hobbyists – and everything in between. A range of styles and genres is welcome and encouraged.  More...
