Thu 6/13 7:45 PM Center for New Music [55 Taylor St SF]
What if Captain Beefheart had cut his teeth listening to The Fall instead of Howlin’ Wolf and Bo Diddley? The result might have sounded like Receptacles—a joyfully shambolic deconstructionist collision of rhythms and riffs. Kyle Bruckmann’s DEGRADIENT gleefully collides elements of skronk, fried analog noise and dark prog, adding significant heaviness to his signature polyrhythmic clatter, formal complexity, and black humor.  More...

Thomas Antonic - text, recitation
Michael Fischer - ad-hoc soundscaping
A morphological text- and soundscape, richly allusive, drawn, sculpture-like, filmic, cross-linking, floating. Whirring visions form a coup of poetic escalation.  More...

As part of boundary-breaking art rock duo Grex, Evangelista has toured nationwide over a dozen times, and his talents have led to work with the likes of Fred Frith, Louis Moholo-Moholo, Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Scott Amendola, Ben Goldberg, Lewis Jordan, and Asian Improv aRts co-founder Francis Wong.

Heule performs a sonic anti-aliasing in real time through micro percussion and electronics that must be heard closely to be believed.
