Described by The New York Times as one of the most memorable groups in jazz, the quintet of Marta Sanchez will present the music of their last CD: SAAM (Spanish American Art Museum), released on Whirlwind Recordings.
“SAAM (Spanish American Art Museum),” is both musically complex and emotionally direct, managing to convey the raw, implacable pain of loss. -Giovanni Russonello for The New York Times.

Ralph White (Austin, TX)
Austin Music Hall of Fame core member of the legendary trio, Bad Livers. “His solo work is possessed of a lonesome spark, exaggerating the implied drone at the heart of the music of Dock Boggs and The Stanley Brothers… playing wooden six-string banjo, violin, accordion and kalimba, his voice has a high, eerie quality… extremely psychedelic"
https://ralphewhite.com/music

Evidence Trio
Mbira, flute and alto maestera Kersti Abrams unites with vibrational bassist Thomas Harrison and thereminist Andrew Joron to establish the avant-space improv Evidence Trio.

DMTD
David Molina and Thomas Dimuzio may seem still, the way whales appear motionless even as they vanish into miles of blue. Deep in your mind you swear they're *both* holding guitars? A thermocline forms, edges of a lake take shape, a lake submerged within the icy ocean.

Earth Jerks
Walk, don't run to the glacial tempo of Christian Dixon's emo-surf-drone that reveals far more space, time and flow than you'll ever ride out. Hear what you're hearing, know what you already know.

Guitarist GIACOMO FIORE presents a pair of just intonation works: CATHERINE LAMB'S "point/wave" (2015) and LARRY POLANSKY'S "freeHorn" (2004). Both pieces harness electronics to generate novel harmonic spaces for the guitar to inhabit and ornament, weaving cyclical arc-like patterns in Lamb, and freely following a progression between related harmonic series in Polansky.

sfSoundGroup performs two iconic 20th century works of chamber music: GÉRARD GRISEY'S bracing "Talea" (1986) and the premiere of a transcription of BRUNO MADERNA'S rarely performed, beguiling "Serenata N.2" (1956).  More...
