Sarah Davachi

Sarah Davachi (b. 1987, Canada) is a composer and performer whose work is concerned with the close intricacies of timbral and temporal space, utilizing extended durations and considered harmonic structures that emphasize gradual variations in texture, overtone complexity, psychoacoustic phenomena, and tuning and intonation. Her compositions span both solo and chamber ensemble formats, incorporating a wide range of acoustic and electronic instrumentation. Similarly informed by minimalist and long-form tenets, early music concepts of intervallic and modal harmony, as well as experimental production practices of the electroacoustic studio environment, in her sound is an intimate and patient experience that lessens perceptions of the familiar and the distant.  More...

Hyères
Luciano Chessa, composer, performance artist and author of a book-length music history, "Luigi Russolo Futurist: Noise, Visual Arts & the Occult" enters the Peacock Lounge with a new project, Hyères. He may be known for huge performances, pipe organ pieces, operatic scale works, collaborations with Blixa Bargeld, Ellen Fullman, Pauline Oliveros and the like, but this is a rare chance to hear him in a small setting. He may come forth with sleigh bells, hearing aids and a megaphone or maybe with a virtual Aardvark Synth washing across acoustic guitar as his psychfolk baritone vocals resonate in, of course, Italian. However he shows, you'll marvel at where this goes.

Sult
Jacob Felix Heule has friends in cold places, when they cross the Atlantic we warm them on audience-heat inside the Peacock Lounge. Contrabass, guitar and bass drum are magnified by microphone and focused back onto the audience, a feedback loop of spreading intensity as subtle harmonics combust, scorching the floor, softening metal, licking the rafters 'til the room is no skin, all smiles.
