Theremin Barney
Mutilating a beloved plush toy to discover the sharp cornered hard hot circuit box inside is where most kids stop, others tear in deeper to nuzzle with circuits, electrons, and the space between. Theremin Barney is such a one, eviscerating a wide range of childhood friends to change what makes them tick. His instrumensts, amps, effects, unpredictable and unnamed devices are all one-of-a-kind designs, all built by hand and usually analog. Past playmates have included Victims Family, Throbbing Gristle, Social Unrest, Jean Jacques Perrey, L7, Hawkwind, DJ RAZ, and Farflung.

Djll Mazawa
Tom Djll lays down slabs of sound, etching them with timbres from his kit of synth circuits. Julia Mazawa raises timbres from etched slabs, laying and delaying their path from tonearm to circuit to soundspace. Formed as a duo during the KJFC day of drone, this time you'll have to be inside the room to pick up the signal rising down from this twisted pair.

SL Morse
SL Morse performs feel-bad modernist literature through Morse Code translations from text to musical notation. Combining composition and improvisation, SL Morse is the project of Sarah Lockhart (drums) collaborating with other musicians. Tonight's performance of “The Yellow Wallpaper” features Sarah's long-time collaborator from past projects (Tainted Pussy, Aurora Nonet), Aurora Josephson (voice/small percussion). Past collaborators include Weasel Walter (guitar), Dominique Leone (keyboards), and Damon Smith (bass). Based on the short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the music is a descent into insanity and explores restraint and confinement, politeness and imagination.
