7:30pm: Jeffrey Young's Magical Kingdom of Dust
Jeffrey Young is a violinist and composer based in Brooklyn, NY. He'll perform a quirky selection of his own music for solo violin and live electronics, including in-your-face theatrics, unabashed shredding, and oceanic soundscapes. He'll also play a short piece for speaking violinist and retuned violin by Paul Pinto, a fellow member of New York's thingNY composer-performer collective.

8:15pm: Three Thirds
Los Angeles-based folk band Three Thirds combines the underdog instruments of the orchestra - bass (Jake Rosenzweig), English horn (Claire Chenette), viola (Heather Lockie) - with a just-intoned National guitar (Alex Wand). Add some close three-part harmonies and the result is a jangly, sometimes exuberant, sometimes desolate sonic landscape of songs you never knew you grew up with.
