Kallie Ciechomski, violist
NY City violist on tour. Repertoire features solo unaccompanied works for viola that have all been written in her lifetime, with an emphasis on composers who are women. Comprised entirely of pieces under 10 minutes long, the program aims to be very accessible and spans pop, classical, avant grade, and improvisational styles. One piece in particular is a feminist counterpoint to the male-dominated classical world, and unfolds itself to depict a female pleasure.
