Virtuoso of the latex balloon Judy Dunaway will present improvisational works on balloons of various shapes and sizes, as well as her audience participation piece “Balloon Symphony No. 2.” Free balloons provided.

Judy Dunaway is an avant-garde composer, free improvisor and conceptual sound artist who is primarily known for her sound works for latex balloons. Since 1990 she has created over forty works for balloons as sound conduits and has also made this her main instrument for improvisation. She has presented her works at many important venues and festivals throughout the US and Europe. She has received grants from the Aaron Copland Fund and American Composers Forum, and residencies from Zentrum fuer Kunst und Medientechnologie and Harvestworks, among others. Her discography includes CDs on the CRI and Innova labels.
