Hocket: Four Hands
HOCKET is a cutting edge piano duo based in Los Angeles. Brought together by their passion for sharing exciting and eclectic chamber music with the world, members Sarah Gibson and Thomas Kotcheff are both pianist-composers dedicated to commissioning and performing contemporary music. They have both been featured performers of University of Southern California’s Thornton Edge for many years and have performed in some of the most exciting venues in Southern California. Together they have premiered dozens of chamber and solo piano works and have collaborated with the premier new music ensemble eighth blackbird. HOCKET made their professional debut alongside Firebird
Ensemble as selected artists in Firebird Ensemble’s Outstanding Young Artists Initiative and is a performing artist on the Schoenhut Piano Company Artist Roster.
HOCKET is the recent recipient of a Presser Foundation Award to fund two upcoming recording projects of newly commissioned works by Sean Friar, Aaron Holloway-Nahum, David Werfelmann, Jeffrey Parola, Jordan Nelson and Kettle Corn New Music composers Alex Weiser, Emily Cooley, and Ryan Harper.
