MobileInTent is a creative production of Ann Schnake and other artists who push boundaries between art and ideas. The project began in 2012 as studio installation, performance site, meeting place, research platform, and interruption. The artists work in tents as a reminder of the American Spring and of a domesticity gone feral, traveling to public spaces, from parking lots to art spaces to border crossings. MobileInTent's process is to investigate social conditions, build sculptural elements, movement and narratives specific to site, for performance and engagement. The artists go where the elaboration of empathy and ideas of a borderless imaginary might expand possibility.

About the Artists
Visual artist and MobileInTent director Ann Schnake’s work is based in both gallery and public settings and engages with the body in failing ecologic and economic systems. She is the founder of MobileInTent, ArtsChange, Odd Sunday Dinners, with recent works at DOCUMENTA(13); D’Clinic Slovenia; Santa Fe Art Institute; California College of the Arts, Aggregate Space Oakland206 Arte Contemporaneo, Tijuana, and the Berkeley Art Center.
Violinist/composer
Kristina Dutton works in a wide range of musical settings, moving freely between improvisation, new music, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Conservatory trained, she has performed on more than 30 albums of various genres, appeared with numerous orchestras, and a handful of internationally acclaimed rock groups.
Natalie Greene is a performer, teacher, pedagogy consultant, creator of dance and a core member of the innovative devised theater company, Mugwumpin. Her own work has appeared in theaters and non-traditional performances spaces throughout the Bay Area, in Italy, Spain, Ecuador and Peru.
Robert Gomez Hernandez is a visual storyteller based in San Francisco, California. He has directed and produced video, film an photogragraphy projects in Brazil, Belgium, France, Haiti, Mexico, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Great Britain, Jamaica, and Cuba.
Carmen Serber is a dance artist, teacher and psychotherapist who investigates states of heightened kinesthetic perception. She is lead performance artist of MobileInTent and has performed with Sara Shelton Mann, Pipaluk Supernova, Blind Tiger Society, Mary Armentrout Dance Theater and the Butoh Festival of Dharamsala, India
Linda Bouchard of Québec, Canada has been an active composer, orchestrator, conductor, and producer for over thirty-five years, recording and performing internationally. Recent works such as the widely touring experimental music theater Murderous Little World, multimedia projects All Caps No Spaces and NEXMAX, joins a lengthy history of orchestral composition. She is currently a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Music at UC Berkeley and artist in residence at Safe House, San Francisco
