v'Maa (Voimaa)
(voimaa is the Finnish word for Power, literally Voi = Oh! and Maa = Earth)
v'Maa's music delves into the juxtaposition of spiritual and sonic concepts behind Finnish and Saami Joik singing, Shamanic chant and musical elements of nomadic cultures. Their style can be described as Afro-Arctic, blends world music and psychedelic music traditions..

v'Maa is a spin off of Cartoon Justice and was first conceived of at a performance ensemble of live improvised scores to the abstract experimental videos, such as Mika Pontecorvo's 'The Watching' - Narrative of the NSA network as a Frankenstien Monstor both long for and seeking to destroy the society of networked humans.

For this performance they will be joined by a founding Cartoon Justice member Ardiane Pontecorvo on Electric Cello.

Adriane has spent the last 3years as international programming director of radio station WFHB. Her professional music career started in 2003 as cellist in a quintet playing in live improvised scores for the Swedish-Danish film Häxan (1922, Benjamin Christensen) and the German Animation feature The Adventures of Achmed (1926 Lotte Reiniger.)
