Thingamajigs Performance Group convenes with Rae Diamond, founder of the Long Tone Choir, to perform small scores and structured improvisations. The work traverses shared territories and provides doorways into each artist’s practice. The matinee purposefully takes place as the winter sun sets, underscoring liminal time with creative concepts of entrance and exit.

Thingamajigs Performance Group is a composer ensemble working co-creatively in a variety of media and with a wide array of local and international artists. Formed in 2008 from longtime Thingamajigs contributors, TPG continues to break new ground in performance fields such as durational performance, alternate tuning, group and open compositional formats, inter-disciplinary and inter-cultural collaboration, and site-work.
Rae Diamond is an artist who dives deep into many waters. Their work explores the intricacies of time, the complexities of light, the impossibilities of stillness and silence, and the potentials of sustained presence and awareness. They are the founder and director of and composer for the Long Tone Choir, and a member of the Cornelius Cardew Choir. Rae teaches long tone singing methods nationally, and spends as much time as possible drawing, trying-and-failing to sing the perfect sound, using their body as a tool of moving meditation, and rambling around in nature.
