Ernesto Diaz-Infante’s musical compositions span a broad perspective: transcendental piano, noise, improvised music, avant- garde guitar, field recordings, and experimental song. He received his MFA from CalArts in Music Composition, where he studied with Stephen L. Mosko and Wadada Leo Smith. He lives in San Francisco with filmmaker Marjorie Sturm and their son and daughter.

Ezra Sturm is a college student at San Francisco State University, majoring in Environmental Studies. He studied music at Community Music Center and with guitarist/synth musician J. Lee. He enjoys making sounds on guitar and dreamy landscapes using synthesis and other techniques.

PET THE TIGER — Pet the Tiger is an SF Bay Area inventors collective led by David Samas that plays in a wide variety of idioms exploring new timbral dimensions through extended techniques, new instruments, xenharmonics and fringe acoustic phenomena. Pet the Tiger also hosts workshops teaching instrument building and a popular “Instrument Petting Zoo”. They have performed new commission for at the Asian Art Museum of SF, SF Conservatory of Flowers, Oakland Museum of California, Soundwave and the Market Street Prototyping Festival.

Christina Braun’s Butoh inspired choreography has been presented locally and internationally since 2002, in collaboration with composers, most closely with instrument inventors Tom Nunn and David Samas. As SF Butoh LAB, Christina has produced Butoh dance symposia, performances, and workshops to strengthen a culture of peace with collaborative art practices.
