Agnes Martian soundtracks an imaginary planetarium that charts undiscovered constellations of inner/outer space. Benjamin Rodgers and Zekarias Thompson started the project in 2019, inviting collaborators from a variety of musical backgrounds to join their sprawling warehouse jams. Ecstatic repetition and free exploration have remained their twin guiding stars. Their first album, The Future Cone (2022, Altered States/Daturanation) explored a tension between propulsive groove and meditative drone, and featured the spoken word vocals of poet gideon hart.
