Eric Glick RiemanLink to home page : Eric Glick Rieman Biography: Eric Glick Rieman is a multi-instrumentalist performer and composer who works in a number of genres, including rock, improvisation, contemporary classical, and electronic ambient musics. In Laughing Stock, he plays Hammond B2 organ, Celeste, Theremin and occasional other electronics, as well as writing with the group. Other projects include the electronic ambient bands Thieves of Silence (with Jeff Karsin) and Liquid Mosaic (with Jeff Karsin and Kevin Keller), and the experimental improv band Bilge (with Robin Walsh and Dave Mairs). He performs in the Mills College Contemporary Performance Ensemble sCraPE under the direction of Fred Frith and Steed Cowart.Eric has become interested in modifying instruments in the last couple of years, notably in the development and exploration of a prepared and extended Rhodes electric piano. In May 2000, he played the modified Rhodes with Fred Frith, Ikue Mori and Lesli Dalaba at Tonic in NYC as part of Derek Bailey's Incus Festival. Eric is currently studying in the Mills College Electronic Music and Recording Media Master's program and has performed with Douglas Ewart, Wadada Leo Smith, Jonas Muller, Scott Keely, Marco Eneidi, Eliane Radigue, Pauline Oliveros, David Abel, Randy Nordschow, Matt Ingalls, John Ingle and many other interesting and intelligent creative musicians. He currently performs with David Slusser, Len Patersen, Jai Young Kim, Eric Gebow, Alex Nahas, Jim Brashear, Elizabeth A. Rosenburg and Daniel Goddston. Email: ooglick@yahoo.com |
