Wednesdays @Berkeley Arts Presents Ashley Bellouin - Bush of Ghosts
8 pm - Ashley Bellouin solo
Ashley Bellouin’s work alternates between and often merges sound art, electroacoustic composition and instrument building, where she focuses on creating alternative designs to rare or forgotten musical instruments. In the summer of 2011 she completed a hand-built glass harmonica that is currently being used for live performance and recording projects. Ashley’s compositions have been performed both nationally and internationally, including the 26th Annual SEAMUS National Conference, the San Francisco Tape Music Festival, and ElectroMediaWorks ’08 in Athens, Greece. She was recently awarded a residency at the Dresher Ensemble ARC Program to continue explorations in instrument building. Ashley currently resides in Oakland, California, where she received an MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College.
