THE LEFT COAST IMPROV GROUP
Jim Ryan - flutes/sax/amped kilimba/small percussion
Shoko Hikage - koto
Ernesto Diaz-Infante - acoustic guitar
Bob Marsh - cello/violin
Scott R. Looney - electronics

In the spirit of Bay Area artistic experimentation and exploration, THE LEFT COAST IMPROV GROUP has crystallized from divergent musical and geographical backgrounds to form a unit of unprecedented talent. The emphasis of the group's approach is on relaxation, freedom, and listening, rather than individual virtuosity which, nevertheless, underlies the ensemble as an unfailing support for its cohesive expressiveness. It's members are products of deep dedication, long study (both in and outside of academia), and many years of performance experience. "The Left Coast Improv Group creates boldly cut, yet delightfully subtle, gems of spontaneous sound."

O-Type 'Medication' CD Release

"O-Type is the not-so-distaant cousin of MX-80 which frequents gothic soundscapes and mesmerizing modular environments rather than simple song structures. Anderson's constructions spring from a complex assembly of sampled sounds which leap from South Sea islands to Balkan minefields.
