Bischoff, Brown, and Perkis

Live Electronic Music

John Bischoff, Chris Brown, and Tim Perkis are long-time collaborators in live electronic music, as members of The HUB, the pioneering computer network band. Two years ago we improvised together at the DUENDE restaurant along with our bandmate Mark Trayle, then subsequently recorded at Mills College's Litttlefield Hall as a trio -- both dates were recorded by our recordist extraordinaire Philip Perkins. The results are now out on an artist's release CD. This noisy music is by turns playful, mysterious, and moving ... the title reflects the journey.

Please come to our CD release concert at the Mercury 20 Gallery in Oakland's Art's district. It's one set of free improvisation, performed amid Johanna Poethig's installation Positional Vertigo of paintings, prints, and magnetic cards; also showing are Peter Honig's photographic works The Surface of Things.
