KFJC Mayhem special - "The Eternal Question." Don Preston is a first rate jazz pianist who has played or recorded with Carla Bley, Charlie Haden, Elvin Jones, John Carter, Herbie Mann, and countless other jazz greats. He is also considered a pioneer in electronic music since the 1960s, especially his work with Moog synthesizers. Don gained much notoriety as a member of the Mothers of Invention and founder of the spin-off group the Grandmothers. We will play a wide variety of material that features Don, including some rarities, and we will air a recorded interview your host Max Level recently conducted with Don.
