Naming Mount Thoreau, edited by Laurie Glover
cover print by Tom Killion, Mt. Thoreau from Piute Pass

Kim Stanley Robinson had the idea that a mountain in California's Sierra Nevada needed to be named for Henry David Thoreau. Laurie Glover made it happen. In September 2014, a motley crew assembled, climbed the peak, and left a summit register proclaiming: This Is Mount Thoreau. Many of the crew were writers, and they wrote about it. This is their book.
