Tortoise guitarist Jeff Parker brings his funky, deep-groove New Breed project to the Bay Area for the first time. Though often associated with the avant-garde and the fringes of the rock scene, the Chicago-raised, Los Angeles-based Parker is a chameleon, integrating his liquid tone and melodicism into work with the Brian Blade Fellowship, Makaya McCraven, the Scott Amendola Band, Carmen Lundy, Isotope 217, and the Chicago Underground Quartet, and Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, among others.
