Thomas Carnacki (first live performance of 2018)
Thomas Carnacki aspires to create a mood of delightful unease. This iteration will be Jesse Burson, Anka Draugelates, Gregory Hagen, Cheryl E. Leonard and Gregory Scharpen.

Cheryl Leonard + Anka Draugelates
Cheryl E. Leonard is a composer, performer, and instrument builder whose works investigate sounds, structures, and objects from the natural world. Her projects cultivate stones, wood, water, ice, sand, shells, feathers, and bones as musical instruments, and often feature one-of-a-kind sculptural instruments and field recordings from remote locales. She uses microphones to explore the subtle intricacies of sounds and develops compositions that highlight these unique voices. Leonard has received grants from the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic Artists and Writers Program, American Music Center, American Composers Forum, and ASCAP. She has been awarded residencies at Djerassi, the Arctic Circle, Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus, Villa Montalvo, and Engine 27. http://www.allwaysnorth.com/

German vocal artist, improviser and composer Anka Draugelates sings and plays the viola as a solo artist and in ensembles. Draugelates has participated in shows throughout Europe, United States and South Africa. She has received residencies and fellowships from Oberpfaelzer Kuenstlerhaus, the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, and Helen Bing; and was awarded the culture promotion prize from Regensburg, Germany.
