Jakob Pek Trio, Crystal Pascucci & Ends Meat

930pm $10-20

Join us for an evening of experimental, exploratory, classical and improvised music at the Octopus Literary Salon in Oakland, CA.

Crystal Pascucci is a cellist, composer and improviser based in the bay area. Her music interweaves a vast knowledge of the European classical tradition with the more experimental and avant-garde approaches of contemporary improvisation and art music.

The Jakob Pek trio w/ Jordan Glenn (drums) and Lee Hodel (bass) make their debut at this performance. These three gifted improvisers are coming together and creating a nuanced and intricate music based on evolutionary listening, free sonic exploration, and a love of the various musical traditions.

Ends Meat' is Erika Oba (keyboards), Eli Maliwan (saxophone) and Chris Bastian (bass). Drawing on their shared influences rooted in jazz, electronic, and experimental new music, Ends Meat' composes and improvises new works centered on ritual, deep listening, and liberation.
