Oakland-based computer music composer and performer Madalyn Merkey presents a new solo composition that operates in interaction with the ambient sounds of the BAMPFA space to generate sonic responses.
Merkey’s Scent (2012) and Valley Girl (2014) are available on New Images Ltd. Her English translation of Due scuole di musica elettronica in Italia (Two Schools of Electronic Music), a pioneering electronic music text written by Enore Zaffiri in the 1960s, is forthcoming from Die Schachtel.
