On Wednesday, September 11 at 7:30pm, Tom's Place presents

Henry Kaiser (gtr) & Mike Baggetta (gtr)
Joel Nelson (gtr) & Jordan Glenn (perc)

Guitarists Henry Kaiser & Mike Baggetta meet for the first time to explore unknown sonic territory together.
Grammy winner Henry Kaiser is widely recognized as one of the most creative and innovative guitarists, improvisers, and producers in the fields of rock, jazz, world, and contemporary experimental musics. The California-based musician is one of the most extensively recorded as well, having appeared on more than 250 different albums and contributed to countless television and film soundtracks. He not only produces and contributes to a staggering number of recorded projects, he performs frequently throughout the USA, Canada, Europe and Japan, with several regular groupings as well as solo guitar concerts and concerts of freely improvised music with a host of diverse instrumentalists.
Mike Baggetta's singular and very personal musical style seeks to blur the lines between composition and improvisation, while connecting a wide range of musical genres that influence him.
"a kind of post-Frisellian sonic explorer ... with his wild whammy-bar articulations, ambient looping and rippling arpeggios ... full of subversive surprises, hellacious skronking, string-scraping and a general hornets' nest of fuzz-toned dissonance" -Bill Milkowski, DownBeat/Slate
I heard the Joel Nelson/Jordan Glenn duo back in July at Pro Arts, and was taken with their sound and energy and immediately thought of them as a compliment to the Baggetta/Kaiser duo. I think you'll really like what they do.
