Volti Vocal Ensemble
16-voice vocal ensemble,
Volti, directed by Robert Geary, featured on the Innova Label, recent collaborators with the Kronos Quartet, ODC dance company, the Left Coast Ensemble, will give two Bay Area performances this weekend entitled "Almost Speechless," performing works by Danny Clay*, Tonia Ko**, Zibuokle Martinaityte, and Mark Winges* **, all Volti commissions .

Now, I know that choral music doesn't always fit the new-music / improv aesthetic, but in this program, we explore largely untexted-settings, moving the experience beyond the literary realm into one that may feel more emotional, more abstract. We also work (play!) with the ideas of improviser-extraordinare, Danny Clay.
