Click for stream Click to make donation "Talos Dreams" explores the line between made versus born in a musical work based on the real and imagined robots of ancient Greece. It’s inspired by the tale of Talos, the mythical robot that guarded Crete against invaders. The divide between human and not human, born vs. built, is a concept in artificial intelligence that’s not only recent, but in fact thousands of years old.
This virtual performance will feature a mix of live performance and music videos produced especially for this format. Talos Dreams is composed by Costas Dafnis and commissioned by the Greek Chamber Music Project with generous support from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Faculty Grant. This performance is sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University History of Art Department, the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute and Peabody Institute.
