Eki Shola & the Lee Vandeveer Band: Benefit for North Bay Organizing Project (NBOP)

NBOP is a grassroots, multi-racial, and multi-issue organization comprised of over twenty-two faith, environmental, labor, student, and community-based organizations in Sonoma County. NBOP seeks to build a regional power organization rooted in working-class and minority communities in the North Bay: Uniting people to build leadership and grassroots power for social, economic, racial, and environmental justice.

Featured in PBS, NPR Tiny Desk Contest, and KQED Eki’Shola’s music transcends genre, as she seamlessly draws from jazz, electronica, and soul music to create a sonic landscape all her own. A solo artist and physician, Eki’Shola uses her music as a conduit for healing. Completing her virtual tour in 2021 for her fourth solo album and inspired by observing the need for amplifying the voices of underrepresented creatives, Eki’Shola was moved to create Unmute Magazine, a digital publication featuring BIPOC artists. Justin Ciechoski will join Eki'Shola on percussion.

Lee Vandeveer Band

The Lee Vandeveer Band brings a wide variety of musical and artistic influences together to create a rockin' sound that blends elements of blues, psychedelic rock, and elements of jazz into a powerful bundle that gets your body moving.

Vandeveer’s songs and lyrics invite the listener on a journey through biographical tales of joy, sorrow, and defiance. A musical landscape that explores the tangle of love, longing, and loss.

When you lose your music including all your stems in the 2017 Tubbs wildfire and you come across a musical gem among your saved emails - you realize how making music doesn't have to be temporal nor perfect in its process. It's all about the vibe and how it makes you feel. Jubilee is about two artists virtually collaborating and connecting... music unifies us all.
