8:00 pm Transient
David R. Molina - Guitar and electronics
with Kevin Woodruff - drums
Transient is a solo and collaborative project in which Molina explores electro-acoustic, ambient, noise, industrial, free improvisation, and experimental music. He sometimes plays traditional acoustic instruments, or invented and found object instruments, and filters them through electronics, effects pedals, loops them and then alters the samples in real time. The results can be meditative soundscapes which are either light, beautiful and haunting, or dark and disturbing. Other times it can be beat driven layers of noise, or a wall of shoegaze noise guitar.

9:00 pm Guinea Pig
Tony Passarell - saxophones
Rent Romus - saxophones
Robert Kuhlman - electric bass
Eli Knowles - drums
Guinea Pig is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Tony Passarell. In 1995 the group was specifically formed for performance presented at the former Dark Circle Lounge Series which had been curated by percussionist Gino Robair.
"Light and airy rhythms are counterbalanced by jarring sounds and tones. This helps to create a feeling a conflict, but instead of being an aggressive affair, its more of siblings blowing off steam for a few minutes before resuming their usual friendly behaviour. What is remarkable is how fluid everything is. It sounds like a well-oiled machine, with players that are used to playing with each other regularly." - Vital Weekly"
