Joyce Todd McBride is a pianist, composer, singer and arranger from Berkeley, California. With wide-ranging interests and a musical background to match, Joyce is delighted to share her new jazz album The Night-time Violets Bloom (released in April 2025). Joyce will be joined by the wonderful Erik Jekabson (trumpet) and
Kasey Knudsen, (alto saxophone), bassist Stacy Starkweather, and drummer
Scott Amendola. Joyce has been a member of many local groups across multiple genres, including new music, gamelan, medieval, baroque, Brazilian, and jazz. She is also the director and arranger for the San Francisco based choir Conspiracy of Venus. Inher 18 years with that group she has created over 50 arrangements. In addition to her active performing life, Joyce is a devoted educator, teaching privately in the East Bay.
