The artists:

Derrick Allard is a sound artist that utilizes field recordings, mundane objects, detritus and naively played instruments to explore acoustic sounds inherent spiritual and aesthetic value outside of the confines of music.

Jordan Blankenship is an experimental sound artist from Modesto, California. His work examines the kinetic relationship between sound and gesture through extended techniques, prepared instruments, and improvised performance. In addition to being part-progenitor of the label Prayercard and producing shows and events, he has toured in Japan and the US.

Kevin Corcoran is a percussionist based in San Francisco, California. He is focused on techniques which extend the sonic range of the drum by emphasizing texture, friction, sympathetic vibration, sustained tones and the use of found objects, often augmenting these sounds with location recordings, amplification, and feedback. His collaboration and performance extends internationally, including tours and residencies in the US, Europe, Japan and China.

Offering “a tone so pure it is almost a sine-wave” (The Wire), Adam Lion is a percussionist based in Los Angeles. A prolific collaborator, he works closely with a wide spectrum of artists from the experimental tradition. He can be heard on the Astral Spirits, Drag City, Innova, Klanggalerie, New Village Tapes, cmntx, and H&S Ranch labels. As a curator and organizer, Lion has presented musicians touring from around the world.

Kaitlin McSweeney is currently based in Oakland. Classically trained in voice (Bel Canto, Baroque), cello and piano, she has performed in Italy, Australia and New Zealand, as well throughout the US. She currently explores contact microphones, found or created resonant objects, voice, cello and piano in sensory-led improvisations, in addition to producing local fundraising concerts and organizing music and multimedia events.

Mike Meanstreetz is a Los Angeles based improviser and multimedia artist. Sonically his practice explores and expands upon both more metrical genre adjacent sensibilities and more fluid extended techniques via drum kit/percussion/salvage, musique concrete/electronic manipulation, and harmonically loaded acoustic-electric nylon guitar. In these various modes he has performed throughout the US, Mexico, Canada and Europe.

K. Francis Messer is a Bay Area-based percussionist and electro-acoustic noisemaker. Improvisational performances emphasize suspension and consequence with analog feedback, prepared drums, salvaged objects, and sonic interference. Sounds move in fractures and flares, embracing points of collision.

Domi Nigro is a performance artist and dancer of varied vocabulary based in Oakland, Ca. Inspired by both the mundane and fantastical, their art aims to explore the merging paradigms of these worlds by delving into highly emotional feeling states, improvisation, and technical movement forms. She’s performed locally and internationally in residencies and events, and been featured in multiple music videos and films
