Polinator’s pathways: Featuring Chris Alford (guitar from Nola)
This is the first of what will hopefully be a series dedicated to the fruitful collaboration that occurs when improvisers who are part of multiple micro-scenes come together to play.
Chris Alford inspired this gathering by showing me the warmest of welcomes when I came to play in New Orleans last year. He brought together 5 Nola musicians and me for a night of trios and quartets that made it so that each player got to play with each other at least once. When he reached out to me about his impending CA trip I thought let’s do the same.
